Conclusion

The Revolutionary era was a turbulent period characterized by war, peace, political debate, and economic hardships. The military conflict left the United States independent but with a national government that was sorely tested to govern the new nation. As states formed constitutions to implement a diverse array of political beliefs, issues of land, rights, and government authority arose. Economic depression created a crisis that raised questions about the national government.
